Past Projects

Keys of Change believes that music can change the world. Since 2011 it has brought music to more than 10,000 people that are living in or have been through extraordinary circumstances in life. Whether it is a remote community in the Amazon, tsunami survivors in an emergency shelter in Japan, conflict survivors in Sierra Leone, poverty stricken communities in India or HIV affected children in Uganda, the universal message of music remains the same: to bring people together, to share an idea, to spark a positive change.

Accra Youth Sinfonietta

The AYS was founded in 2019 by Keys of Change, in response to requests from local teachers and students from the Greater Accra area to put together an ensemble of young musicians from all walks of life, in order to empower the youth through music. The heart of the orchestra is the young musicians from Kinder Paradise, a children's home on the outskirts of Accra, who. The launch of the orchestra took place in November 2019 with a performance at the Kempinski Gold Coast City Accra, with a group of 40 musicians performing a varied programme under the baton of Panos Karan. Keys of Change has since continued its visits to Accra and, in collaboration with Kinder Paradise, to continues working with children who would not otherwise have access to music education and live performances.

Music Education

At Keys of Change, we believe that music education can transform lives and unlock potential in students. That's why we've made it our mission to bring music education to some of the most vulnerable communities around the globe. With our past music education programs, we have seen first hand how music can break down barriers, provide hope and healing, and inspire lifelong learning. We are committed to continuing our work in these communities, knowing that music education can empower students to succeed both within and beyond the classroom.

Kolkata Youth Orchestra

Keys of Change organised several visits to Kolkata since 2013, working with young musicians and performing in orphanages, homes for the elderly and music schools. In 2104 Keys of Change helped create the Kolkata Youth Orchestra (KYO), a group of young musician who come from extremely difficult backgrounds, while providing musical coaching by European professionals and performance opportunities for the Indian musicians. In November 2014 Keys of Change put together a joint performance for the KYO, attracting an audience of more than 700 people and in 2016 Keys of Change, together with KYO, presented the largest western classical music orchestra to have ever performed in the City of Light to date.  More than anything, Keys of Change envisioned this collaboration to be a chance for young people who are facing tremendous hardships to come together in a positive and creative spirit, to use music and music learning for improving themselves, share with the world something that would have never otherwise been expected from them: unity, determination, hope.
